Katie started dancing at the age of 4 after attending The Nutcracker and falling in love with ballet. Ballet has always been her favorite and main focus throughout her training; however, she has also taken additional classes that have included contemporary, modern, lyrical, and jazz
among her 14 years of dancing. Over the years, Katie has performed in 11 Nutcracker productions as well as several performances of Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Wizard of Oz, and Coppelia. During her training, Katie received instruction from many professionals, her favorites being Mr. Eric and Miss Sunita at Hudson Conservatory of Ballet. In addition to furthering herself as a dancer, Katie spent 5 years assisting in numerous young dancer classes due to her love for children and desire to share her passion for dance with others. These endeavors have prepared Katie with the expertise and professionalism needed to instruct aspiring dancers.
Besides teaching at HCB, Katie is also a full-time student at the University of Akron where she is majoring in Early Childhood Education. In 2020, Katie completed the Youth Protection Advocates in Dance Certification along with the Red Cross First Aid CPR/AED Certification. She loves having the opportunity to impact children by being a great role model and getting to know each of her students as individuals. Katie hopes to help each child build confidence and strive to be the best they can be both on and off the dance floor.
